free wall paper samples and Wall paper craft ideas

Wall paper Mosaic Art.

While being on maternity leave and unable to find the time to craft I have been spending my few spare minutes to myself by lusting after other peoples craft ideas. Just waiting until it was again my time to be able to do CRAFT!

Free wall paper samples are just one thing that I found I could order in seconds with the intent to craft with later.
Here are a few links to some sites so that you can order your own

You can (as I'm sure I have said before) go to your local DIY store and pick up some free samples of wallpaper as long as you tell the staff before you leave, You can do it if you...you know the rest!

These are really simple but a little time consuming, well the measuring and cutting out of the squares is but once that is done your away.
Use colours that complement each other or the colour that will work with the room you will put them in.

Have a go, get crafty and Happy crafting!

Beautiful paper butterflies

Beautiful Paper Butterflies.

This is my take on the beautiful Mondocherry butterflies that I see so much of on Pinterest.

I have been lusting over their wonderful array of paper crafts since having my second child and this week I have finally stole some time for my craft and made one.

Start with two butterfly templates of different sizes.
100's can be found to print off  on google.

Cut out 9 of each and stick one on top of the other like so.

This is what you will end up with. They can be used as any number of crafts at this stage, card toppers, Stick on a plain frame to make it more interesting, I'm sure you get the idea!

Mark the paper on which you are going to stick the butterflies, space them out equally and be accurate use a ruler!

Once you have stuck them down you will have your very own pretty as can be butterfly art piece.

Be warned these are addictive so you will end up making lots! They are great for presents so all is not lost!
Happy crafting!!

Safety pin bracelet

A good gift for Mum on Mother's Day.
Fiddly and takes a bit of time and patience but the end result is a piece of jewellery that is individual and made from the heart.

You will need lots of safety pins about 70/80 will do but the amount depends on the size of the wrist it is to go around.
Lots of small glass beads colour of your choice.
I happen to like the look of a bracelet with different shades of the same colour. but all different colours looks really cool.

Thread the beads on to the pin, leave a space at the top so the pin can be closed. Then nip the fastening end of the pin to stop it coming undone.
When you have enough to make the bracelet get two pieces of  cotton covered elastic, knot the ends and start threading the pins on.

A note on this stage you need to thread the pins so that they alternate the way they go on top to bottom.

Tie the ends of the elastic together and there you have it your very own safety pin bracelet!! have a go and you'll just love the results.

Lots of paper to choose from and lots of origami tutorials to choose from.

Pretty patchwork

Pretty patchwork for the forth coming arrival of my second baba.

When I was pregnant with Dylan I made a crochet blanket as I just wanted the baby to have something I made with my own fair hands.
As with the first born I'm doing the same with the second baby and have begun making a patch work blanket for my little son or daughter.

Material from eBay and from a stack that my big sister Angela gave me.

It had been along time since using a sewing machine to do patchwork so I got a little help from a  web page.  I knew the basic of what I was doing but just needed a little reminder of how on earth you start it off and what to sew when and all that jazz.

Kusasama birthday gifts

Kusasama birthday gifts

Yes I've been at it again with the paper flowers. I simple love these and they are so easy to make. I usually get the urge to make some flowers and happily sit in front of the TV just putting them together.

This particular one was meant to be for a friends shop but it took me so long to sit down and thread them on to a mobile( purely through be lazy! ) that it's ended up being a birthday present.
I used shiny gold paper which can I just point out was a nightmare to get glue to stick to and black and mustard yellow card.
I think it looks really effective.

Paper mobiles

Paper Mobile

I do love my paper mobiles. I have to curb myself and not make to many or the house would be full of them!
This one I got from a book that was bought for my birthdays.

Again it is relatively easy but fiddly, so patience is needed and as most people who know will tell you I have very little and I got in to quite a muddle at one point and the air turned blue, then purple and back again. The end result is well worth the effort and it looks great.

Right to make this lovely mobile you will need 70 small circles, 70 tiny beads which  will go through a needle, 7 threads on which to thread them and a bangle on which to hang them. I used a normal cotton thread.
I used a circle punch to punch out the circle as it was so much easier but I suppose if you have the patience of a saint then you could cut them all out yourself. Once you have got all your circles you need to fold then in half then in half again creating a circle in 1/4's like the pictures.
Thread your needle with a colour that complements your colour of circles. With a knot on the end of your thread sew through the middle of the first circle.  Before each circle you now need to knot a bead on  this is what will keep your circles in place. Leave a space between each circle that you thread of equal distance. Keep going this way until you have 10 circles on a thread then 7 threads full of 10 circles each. Now tie you thread to the bangle again leaving equal space between each thread and there you have it your very own, very cool paper circle mobile.

The finished product!

Stuffed owls

Soft stuffed owl toys

These little fellows were a lot of fun to make and as with most of the stuff I make not too time consuming and pretty easy to boot!

I printed off one of many owl templates that are on the Internet.
All you need is a front and a back both the shame shape then it's a case of getting creative and putting your own mark on them.

Go on get creative people and make something cute!!

3D paper ball

3 D Paper Ball

I made these after seeing them on Pinterest and they are surprisingly easy to make.
The only thing that is a bit of a bind is cutting out the 12 shapes needed to make these lovely little balls.
I used two different paper types to do mine but they look equally as cool with one colour.
I did make the first two with one colour but my 3 year son got hold and these and destroyed them along with my sole when I found them scattered across the living room floor the next morning!

Have a go the are really quite easy if not a bit fiddly but if you can get past that then you will end up with a very cheap and very pretty ornament.

This is the link to How about orange blog spot which is where I got the idea from.
